Research Update

Dr. Eugene A. Bauer, Dean of the Stanford University School of Medicine, is recognized as the leader in Epidermolysis Bullosa research. For more than 30 years it has been the focus of his study. Dr. Bauer has been honored with every major award given by the international medical community for investigative dermatology.

When Dr. Bauer came to Stanford University to head the Department of Dermatology in 1988, he decided to continue focusing on EB as his major research effort, attacking it with great energy and passion. He proceeded to list top scientists in disciplines related to EB research and was successful in recruiting all of them to Stanford.

Dr. Bauer's world-class research team is now on the brink of a gene-therapy program that could change the lives of EB children forever. The discouragement and despair of EB families has finally been replaced with hope for a bright future, one free of pain and rich in opportunity for EB children everywhere. (EBMRF- Finding The Cure)

It is now your opportunity to make this bright future for all children with EB a reality. Please take the time to read a little more about EB and then donate whatever amount you can to EBMRF through EBTrek 2001.
